Still Casting the Net

Image
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 Greetings in Jesus’ wonderful name. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Gladness for me, today, is to be sending you the latest news from LTI. If you think you did not get a newsletter from me last month, you are correct. Try as hard as I tried, I kept sensing the Lord calling me to a time of being alone with Him. A fast, if you will, from the busyness of life in order to clearly hear His voice for 2019 and beyond. I have been rewarded for my obedience. Still Casting the Net Since having been given the assignment to “cast the net” I have cast it in every way I could think of without much result. The next things I share with you reveal that God has better ways than mine.  A little over a year ago , the Lord brought a middle-aged woman into my life that soon became a new friend. It was for more than friendship, though, that He brou...

We can “go anywhere” through prayer

Image
“Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the message, to speak the mystery of the Messiah…” Col. 4:2 HCSB I’LL NEVER FORGET  I   will never forget the most surprising void I felt in my life after Bud passed from this earth and entered the presence of the Lord (This month is the 12th anniversary of his passing). You might be surprised as well.   While I most assuredly felt the tremendous emptiness created by his physical passing, this emptiness was something else altogether. I knew he prayed for me on a regular basis, as I did for him. But I did not know how M.U.C.H. he prayed for me. The Lord had given me a strong man as my husband, which I wanted, but all his strength was not physical. He was a man of much prayer.  I will also never forget one day when I went to be with him in the hospital. He was in ICU. As I approached his room, his nurse restrained me from...

It's A Calling...

Image
“And... He saw... James and John... and He called them... And they immediately... followed Him.” Matthew 4:21, 22 (KJV) A  few days ago, I was reflecting on the day, when the sudden inspiration for poetry came to me and the opening lines of a poem began rolling over in my spirit. I went to my computer and began writing. The poem to your right is the result. I felt I was to share it with you in this newsletter. A few days later, it occurred to me that I have never shared, in a newsletter, how God called me to foreign missions ministry, and that I should share it with you now. I hope it will be a blessing to you. I’LL NEVER FORGET I’ll never forget the day the Lord called me. It was during a Sunday morning service. I was in the sanctuary with my parents (because in my day the whole family worshiped together in the sanctuary). I was eleven years old. One of the missionary families our church supported was with us that day to report on their work in southern Mexico, ne...

My First Interview With A Millennial...

Image
“...Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” Habbakuk 2:2 (NKJV) Happy greetings to you on this wonderful day the Lord has made. I am expecting Him to bless me and use me for His glory. I hope you are. as well. Who knows what this day holds for us? MY FIRST INTERVIEW WITH A MILLENNIAL After all these months of CTN (Casting the Net to the Younger Generations) I had my first interview with a millennial who feels God is calling her to missions ministry. Her name is Rachel Reese. It was a wonderful, exciting time with this precious young lady who is preparing herself for medical missions, which will open the door for her to  share the gospel of Jesus Christ. She will receive her degree in nursing next year.  After that? What? Several possibilities lie before her, and we discussed them together.  Truth. She still has a few years of preparation before she will be ready to launch into ministry. Bottom line, preparation ...

Summertime Means Travel...

“Yet Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.” Luke 5:16 (NET) If you think you didn’t get a newsletter in June, you are correct. Do not fret. I am still alive and well. I have simply felt the need to draw away from as many of life’s duties as possible for a special time of seeking the Lord.  The chorus of a song I learned in my childhood, “Shut in With God,” says it for me: “Shut in with God in the secret place. There in the Spirit beholding His face. Gaining new power to run in the race. I long to be shut in with God.” I have not made as much progress in my assignment as I would have liked to in the past little while; and, I have felt the need for some serious soul searching. There are four questions I have placed before the Lord: 1) Have I been experiencing spiritual warfare on a new level for me in recent months, even          years? 2) Or, am I still dealing with the ravages of chemotherapy? 3) Or...

Rev. Bud Cassidy Memorial Leadership Library Dedication

Image
“Pay to everyone what is due them…honor to whom honor is due.” Romans 13:7 TLV I am changing the focus of this newsletter to the on-going work in Nigeria, in order to share with you pictures from the formal dedication of the Rev. Bud Cassidy Memorial Leadership Library that is established in and through the ministry of Rev. and Mrs. Chuwang Davou and their ministry, Grace and Peace Foundation, Jos, Nigeria. It gives me great joy to be able to honor my late husband, the love of my life, and Founder of Leadership Training International, alongside the wonderful Nigerians who loved/love him so dearly. He dearly loved them. Were he still with us today, his heart would be overflowing with joyful appreciation for the memorial they have raised in his honor. This pictorial presentation is the result of only one of the tens of thousands of others who are also in full-time ministry today because of his visionary leadership to raise up, teach, and equip nationals to fulfill their own God giv...
