News From The North....

Greetings from the Great Not-Quite White North,

Here we are, the end of October and no snow on the ground yet. But it’s coming. The “termination dust” is on the mountains and coming down fast. Here in South East Alaska we expect snow in October, early November at the latest. Winter preparations are about done and it’s time to focus on Romania and Kenya.

As I write this I have 8 days ‘till lift off! The check list is done and I’m ready and rarin’ to go. All the meetings and ministry are set, housing, transportation, messages, check. The only duck that’s not in the row is money. We still haven’t seen all of the expense money come in. But God is faithful, and He’ll come through. He always does!

I will try to keep you updated via our blog or, if you’re on Facebook, you can see the news there. Please keep this trip in prayer. The Romania leg is crucial for getting the school of ministry started right. The Kenya portion is a chance to join forces with an existing ministry and begin to reach a city for Jesus.
Once I get back the focus will be on India. The trip is coming on fast and, wow, it looks great! We’ll be spending a week ministering in churches in Pune, then a week at a church plant in the north. The cost of this trip will be about $3000. Would you prayerfully consider giving towards this?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It is apathy, not hatred, that is the chief adversary of love. The danger is not that His children will hate but that they won’t care! Not many believers hate, not even their enemies. But many don’t care enough to pray, to reach out, to be Jesus to those in need, even those that oppose us. Hatred is pretty easy to spot and pretty easy to deal with. Lukewarmness is more subtle. It hides behind our “religious” activity, often looking a lot like wisdom or patience or stewardship. The cure is simple but not necessarily easy. Love. Not just in word but in deed. I’ve found in my own life, that when apathy sets in, that if I start looking for those in need that the Father puts in my path, and seeking to meet their needs, apathy flees and the fire is rekindled!

Yours for the Kingdom,

Mark & Julie
