News From The Dyars...

We hope this month finds you doing well. We’ve had a great May with two of our girls home, and as the saying goes “the world keeps spinning.”

We continue to be in a season of waiting and resting. It’s an interesting space to be in; the tension between surrender and not giving up. Of course the scripture “having done all you know to do, stand…” comes to mind. But in this particular battle, instead of putting on armor to withstand an evil day; it’s more like the Lord is stripping off pieces of armor we’ve put up in our mind. Pieces with names like expectation, self-reliance, experience, and weariness. It’s a time of simply seeking Him because He’s worth seeking. Allowing ourselves to be loved by Him simply because it pleases Him, trusting the rest will fall into place as it should.

KENYA
We have good news to report! Airfare has dropped considerably, which means we now only need $500 to meet the trip budget. We had been thinking it would September before Mark would be able to make the trip. In recent weeks Mark has been sensing an urgency for it to happen sooner. Our contact, Matthew, continues to report revival is breaking out in the slums of Nakuru. Yay God!!! He is also recognizing their need for someone to come along side to teach them how to steward this well. That’s our assignment, and we just need $500 more dollars.

ROMANIA
Since we have not had a group confirm to work in the dumps, we are putting a trip to Romania on the back burner for now. Mark is able to continue the work on the curriculum and be in touch with Adi via email, so work is progressing on that front without making a trip. The church in Romania continues to look for space to house the church and school. However, it continues to be a challenge. They face a real estate shortage that is creating an environment where it’s impossible to find permanent space to rent.  Finding the right lot to build is also presenting challenges. They have the finances ready; they just need the right location. Please pray the Lord would bring the right lot into their hands.

Greetings from the Balmy North, Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. But this too, shall pass and soon enough we’ll be buried under several feet of snow and the rise of the mercury will stop in the single digits. Wow! What a trip! Or is that trips? Anyway, what a wonderful time in the Lord and with His family. ROMANIA The main goal for the Romanian leg of the trip was to meet with Pastor Adi and move ahead on the School of Ministry; and that is exactly what happened. A prime example of a divine appointment. We were in complete agreement about the form the school should take, where it should start, goals and timing. If the speed with which this year has started is any indicator of what the rest of this year will be.....I may have to stop now and again to catch my breath. That thought excites me, and I hope that is exactly how it will be. My highest hope for you and me is that the perfect will of God will be accomplished in each of our lives so that multitudes will come to know Jesus our Savior, that He may be gloried and that we may be edified more and more each day.  In some ways, I am still in Thanksgiving mode. Actually, I am always in thanksgiving mode, but the news I am sharing with you now is a carryover from a $1200 project I presented to you in our October 2015 newsletter to purchase a new desktop computer for the work in India. Greetings from the Great Land, Just a bit of trivia. Alaska is the English version of Alyeska, which is Aleut for the Great Land. And it truly is a great land. Pastor Mathew Ondicho, Nairobi, Kenya This month we want to introduce you to a friend of Mark’s. His name is Mathew Ondicho and he’s a pastor and evangelist in Kenya. Mathew is one of 7 children, born into a poor, rural family. Mathew was saved at 5, and by the time he was 7 he was preaching in public. He was so small he had to stand on a table so the congregation could see him. In 2007, God called him into the slums of Nairobi, some 250 miles from his home. Since then, he has planted several churches, conducted numerous crusades and established a feeding program for orphans and widows. Pastor Mathew and his wife, Vane, work side by side to advance the Kingdom, taking ground back from the enemy.
