Greetings from the Great White North.

Typical Juneau January… cold and colder, snow and more snow. You know the joke about shoveling while it’s still snowing? Well, here we have no choice. If you don’t shovel while it’s snowing you might not get out of the driveway. This is the time of year when we all question why we love it here. But spring is coming and soon enough, the steelhead will be back in the rivers and streams and we’ll remember why we love Alaska. Ah, spring… our annual reminder of rebirth and resurrection, renewal and revival. Definitely my favorite season.

Plans for the India trip are progressing nicely. Bhalchandra is working hard on the promotions and seems to have most of the Christians in Pune praying. This should be a great conference. The team the Father has put together is awesome. Gifted teachers and preachers who know His heart and how to share it. We are looking forward to seeing Jesus show up in power and bless His Church of Pune. Mark is going to try and post daily updates during the conference here on our blog.

One of the things we hope to accomplish on this trip is to lay the groundwork for our future ministry in India. Bhalchandra and Mark will be setting dates for the Annual Pune Conference, and exploring possibilities for other ministry in the villages. When those dates are set, we will let you know. If you are interested in joining us, let us know.  We’d love to have a bunch of folks join us for next year’s trip.

Please keep praying for this conference, for the teachers (Mark, Larry Koontz, Bill Paddock, and Greg Stevens), and for the finances. The cost of this trip is $4500.00 per person. That’s a lot of money for each of us to raise in a short period, but the Lord is moving, and we trust Him to meet these needs.

Greetings from the Balmy North, Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. But this too, shall pass and soon enough we’ll be buried under several feet of snow and the rise of the mercury will stop in the single digits. Wow! What a trip! Or is that trips? Anyway, what a wonderful time in the Lord and with His family. ROMANIA The main goal for the Romanian leg of the trip was to meet with Pastor Adi and move ahead on the School of Ministry; and that is exactly what happened. A prime example of a divine appointment. We were in complete agreement about the form the school should take, where it should start, goals and timing. So, as soon as the holiday season is past, Mark will start working on the curriculum for the school. We hope to see the first students attending classes in the fall of 2015! “And the things thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2 2016! If the speed with which this year has started is any indicator of what the rest of this year will be.....I may have to stop now and again to catch my breath. That thought excites me, and I hope that is exactly how it will be. My highest hope for you and me is that the perfect will of God will be accomplished in each of our lives so that multitudes will come to know Jesus our Savior, that He may be gloried and that we may be edified more and more each day.  In some ways, I am still in Thanksgiving mode. Actually, I am always in thanksgiving mode, but the news I am sharing with you now is a carryover from a $1200 project I presented to you in our October 2015 newsletter to purchase a new desktop computer for the work in India. Greetings from the Great Land, Just a bit of trivia. Alaska is the English version of Alyeska, which is Aleut for the Great Land. And it truly is a great land. Pastor Mathew Ondicho, Nairobi, Kenya This month we want to introduce you to a friend of Mark’s. His name is Mathew Ondicho and he’s a pastor and evangelist in Kenya. Mathew is one of 7 children, born into a poor, rural family. Mathew was saved at 5, and by the time he was 7 he was preaching in public. He was so small he had to stand on a table so the congregation could see him. In 2007, God called him into the slums of Nairobi, some 250 miles from his home. Since then, he has planted several churches, conducted numerous crusades and established a feeding program for orphans and widows. Pastor Mathew and his wife, Vane, work side by side to advance the Kingdom, taking ground back from the enemy.
