It’s Saturday, May 14th. Jennifer and I are wrapping up everything that must be done before we begin our journey to Nigeria on Monday, the 16th, and this early-sequence newsletter is one of those things. We’re sending it out early because it has information you need to know about while we are gone, and we won’t be home to send it at the regularly scheduled time.

ABOUT THE TRIP
Six of us are going on this trip – our Associate Missionaries Larry Koontz and David Smoot, Glenn Beiersdorfer (a member of our home church who will be travelling with David), Mark, Jennifer and I – and all of us are excited to be going. As you know, Nigeria has gone through two years of terrible strife and bloodshed, but things have settled down with the election of their new President. We are so thankful for this improved situation in the country. Now it’s time for the country to heal and repair itself. We believe God is going to use us to help this process along as we minister in our various venues.

By the time all of us finish our ministry schedules, we will have preached and taught at least sixty-five (65) times in at least ten (10) different venues. Now that’s exciting, isn’t it.

MY SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
May 23rd pm – 27th am: our 23rd Annual Leadership Conference, 5 days.
May 27th pm – 29th  am: a second Leadership Conference in the city of Bokkos, south of Jos, 3 days.
May 30th – June 2nd: teaching at the ICOM Bible College and the Springfield Bible Training Center, 4 days each.

TRIP EXPENSES
However, we are still in need of funds to cover the cost of this trip. To-date we have not received any contributions toward the $6,000.00 needed for Jennifer’s and my expenses. In the past, I have traveled alone if necessary, but the time has come that I believe I should have a traveling companion– an armor bearer, if you will. Her portion is  $2,000.00; mine is $4,000.00. Would you please join us in prayer for the supply of this need? We are trusting the Lord to touch the hearts of those who are able to help. 

To our faithful monthly partners, we send a great big “Thank You” and a prayer for God to over-abundantly bless you! Your faithfulness keeps us going.

Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain

Greetings from the Balmy North, Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. But this too, shall pass and soon enough we’ll be buried under several feet of snow and the rise of the mercury will stop in the single digits. Wow! What a trip! Or is that trips? Anyway, what a wonderful time in the Lord and with His family. ROMANIA The main goal for the Romanian leg of the trip was to meet with Pastor Adi and move ahead on the School of Ministry; and that is exactly what happened. A prime example of a divine appointment. We were in complete agreement about the form the school should take, where it should start, goals and timing. “And the things thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2 2016! If the speed with which this year has started is any indicator of what the rest of this year will be.....I may have to stop now and again to catch my breath. That thought excites me, and I hope that is exactly how it will be. My highest hope for you and me is that the perfect will of God will be accomplished in each of our lives so that multitudes will come to know Jesus our Savior, that He may be gloried and that we may be edified more and more each day.  In some ways, I am still in Thanksgiving mode. Actually, I am always in thanksgiving mode, but the news I am sharing with you now is a carryover from a $1200 project I presented to you in our October 2015 newsletter to purchase a new desktop computer for the work in India. News From the North.......

Greetings from the Great Land, Just a bit of trivia. Alaska is the English version of Alyeska, which is Aleut for the Great Land. And it truly is a great land. Pastor Mathew Ondicho, Nairobi, Kenya This month we want to introduce you to a friend of Mark’s. His name is Mathew Ondicho and he’s a pastor and evangelist in Kenya. Mathew is one of 7 children, born into a poor, rural family. Mathew was saved at 5, and by the time he was 7 he was preaching in public. He was so small he had to stand on a table so the congregation could see him. In 2007, God called him into the slums of Nairobi, some 250 miles from his home. Since then, he has planted several churches, conducted numerous crusades and established a feeding program for orphans and widows. Pastor Mathew and his wife, Vane, work side by side to advance the Kingdom, taking ground back from the enemy.
