News From the Dyars...

Greetings from beautiful Redding!
What a wonderful time of the year! Mission trips are fast approaching; conferences are coming up; and, spring fishing is right around the corner. All of that adds up to a hopeful, busy time. It’s an annual lesson on living in the present while simultaneously looking to the future with expectation and hope.
Speaking of lessons… Flexibility is the name of this one...
We all claim to be flexible. We know it’s a desirable quality, but learning and living it can be trying. Nevertheless, that’s where we are. Sometimes the Father exercises His right to substitute something else for what we wanted. The good news is that His substitution is ALWAYS an upgrade! In this case, our plans have been pretty dramatically altered. Another ministry has invited us (Mark and Julie) to minister with them in Mozambique!
At last, after all of these years of keeping up the home front, Julie finally gets to go!
The hosting ministry in Mozambique is paying for our round trip airfare, and all of our in-country expenses while we are there. We’ll be visiting an established ministry with an eye towards partnering with them in the future. We’ll both be doing some teaching, while taking in the local culture. This ministry has some exciting opportunities in both Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Interjection...Emergency Action Needed...
This trip is happening in March, when Mark was originally planning to be in Kenya. Now, this is where the flexibility comes in. We will travel together to Mozambique. When the ministry time there has been completed, Julie and I have a decision to make. Either, we can both return home together, all expenses paid by the hosting Mozambique ministry; OR, Julie can return home, and Mark can fly on to Nairobi, Kenya from Johannesburg, South Africa for only $400.00 round trip. This would reduce the cost of the Kenya trip from $3900 to $2000 ($400 for airfare, $1600 for in country travel, housing and food expenses).
To Date…
NO Funds have come in for the Kenya trip. It would seem a waste of time and God’s money to forfeit this opportunity to combine 2 trips into 1. We NEED your IMMEDIATE help! Will you help us?
Romania
Romania has certainly been in the news a lot lately, and for very good reasons. Her people have risen up against corruption, and for justice; demanding that political leaders be held to righteous standards, and that the corrupt be held accountable. The best news... they’re doing it peacefully, unlike the “protests” we’re seeing here in the States. This is more evidence that Romania is becoming what the Lord has called her to be. And it adds to our sense of urgency concerning the need for leaders in her churches. This field is truly “ripe for harvest!”
We’re planning to go back to Romania in August or September. Mark would love to have some of you join him on this trip. It’s a truly great way to “get your feet wet” in cross-cultural ministry. The cost will be $3400-3800, depending on airfare. Let us know if you’re interested.
Thank you for all that you do.
Yours for the Kingdom,

Mark and Julie
