Greetings. 

This is the day that the Lord has made. It is a good day, and I am rejoicing in it. 

JOS, NIGERIA - BUILDING A LIBRARY  
This month I am highlighting the ministry of Rev. Chuwang Davou in Jos, Nigeria. He and his wife attended our very first Pastors and Ministers Conference in Jos in 1989, and with very few exceptions they have continued every year to this date. They will always be a part of these great conferences.

I first introduced him to you in my October 2014 newsletter. This was soon after I learned that God had put it in his heart to follow in our footsteps and conduct these same leadership teaching conferences in nine other nations in Africa. In my September 2015 newsletter I reported that these conferences have now reached into seventeen nations, either by being physically there or by citizens of neighboring countries attending conferences where he was. 
Chuwang is the founder of Grace and Peace Foundation International, a ministry dedicated to developing capable church leaders in as many nations as God will allow him on the continent of Africa.

One part of his vision is to have a good resource library at the ministry’s headquarters. In my September 2015 newsletter, I showed you a picture of him in my home holding several books from Bud’s and my personal ministerial library that I was giving him to begin a library at his ministry headquarters in Jos. I would have given him more, but there was no more room in his luggage and excess baggage fees are too costly. 

This past April, I sent $200 to Chuwang with David Smoot whom you know from his many years of working with us in LTI and in the Nigeria conferences in particular. David faithfully continues to minister in these conferences every year and loves Nigeria as much as we do. 

The purpose for the $200 was for Chuwang to go the Christian bookstore in Jos and purchase as many books as he could to add to the ministry’s library. Every person called by God to five-fold ministry knows the value of good, sound resource materials to help them fulfill their calling with excellence. As is the custom in foreign cultures, Chuwang wanted to honor the man whose vision he felt the Lord has asked him to continue in Africa. So, the library is named, “Rev. Cassidy Memorial Leadership Library.” Isn’t that something? 

David will continue to go and teach. I will continue to help build a good library. Together, we will continue equipping those who are called to leadership ministry for the growing and expanding church in Nigeria and neighboring nations.

Greetings from the Balmy North, Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. If the speed with which this year has started is any indicator of what the rest of this year will be.....I may have to stop now and again to catch my breath. That thought excites me, and I hope that is exactly how it will be. My highest hope for you and me is that the perfect will of God will be accomplished in each of our lives so that multitudes will come to know Jesus our Savior, that He may be gloried and that we may be edified more and more each day.  In some ways, I am still in Thanksgiving mode. Actually, I am always in thanksgiving mode, but the news I am sharing with you now is a carryover from a $1200 project I presented to you in our October 2015 newsletter to purchase a new desktop computer for the work in India. Greetings from the Great Land, Just a bit of trivia. Alaska is the English version of Alyeska, which is Aleut for the Great Land. And it truly is a great land. Pastor Mathew Ondicho, Nairobi, Kenya This month we want to introduce you to a friend of Mark’s. His name is Mathew Ondicho and he’s a pastor and evangelist in Kenya. Mathew is one of 7 children, born into a poor, rural family. Mathew was saved at 5, and by the time he was 7 he was preaching in public. He was so small he had to stand on a table so the congregation could see him. In 2007, God called him into the slums of Nairobi, some 250 miles from his home. Since then, he has planted several churches, conducted numerous crusades and established a feeding program for orphans and widows. Pastor Mathew and his wife, Vane, work side by side to advance the Kingdom, taking ground back from the enemy.
