News From the North...

Greetings from the Sunny North,

We’ve been blessed with some amazing weather these last few weeks. Juneau is dressed in her finest when she is all decked out in her Spring duds! Isn’t it funny how Spring can happen overnight? What seems like a never ending winter suddenly becomes green, fresh and full of life. Sometimes seasons change like that: seasons in nature, and seasons in our lives.

We are definitely in a “suddenly” season. After a prolonged period of waiting, now we are running to keep up! Over the last couple of weeks our youngest daughter has been accepted into a school of ministry, landed a job, pretty much has all her housing arranged and will be heading out mid-May. The two boys we have been fostering are moving to their forever home next week. And, we believe the Lord has given us a timetable for moving to the Lower 48. A chorus from Ghana says it so well - “Cause when the Lord gets ready, you’ve got to move, move, move, move, move.”

This month we want to share about the work in Kenya. This opportunity to partner with the Holy Spirit and His heart for this nation is exciting. In the natural, what you see in Kenya is extreme poverty, rampant licentiousness, and a national orphan crisis. The orphan crisis is a physical manifestation of a spiritual truth. Kenya is in the grips of an orphan spirit and has been for generations. This spirit has, in turn, birthed the other issues and is at the root of the majority of her problems.

But what does Jesus see when He goes looking for His bride in Kenya? He doesn’t see orphans. He sees sons and daughters who don’t know their own value…yet.
Our assignment then becomes more than just telling them about the love and care of the Father, but demonstrating that He has the will and the power to transform their lives. More than money, food, or water; they need to encounter the Father who loves them. This is what we hope to accomplish this fall, to reveal the Father’s heart for them and demonstrate His love and care.

Mark continues to make great strides in getting the curriculum together for the school in Romania. It is now looking like the trip will happen in early Summer rather than this Spring. We look forward to sharing more on the progress with the school and the final travel plans with you next time.

Thank you for all you do to help spread the Gospel. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.

Yours for the Kingdom,

Mark and Julie Dyar
