News From The North...

Greetings from the Balmy North,

Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. But this too, shall pass and soon enough we’ll be buried under several feet of snow and the rise of the mercury will stop in the single digits.
Wow! What a trip! Or is that trips? Anyway, what a wonderful time in the Lord and with His family.

ROMANIA
The main goal for the Romanian leg of the trip was to meet with Pastor Adi and move ahead on the School of Ministry; and that is exactly what happened. A prime example of a divine appointment. We were in complete agreement about the form the school should take, where it should start, goals and timing. So, as soon as the holiday season is past, Mark will start working on the curriculum for the school. We hope to see the first students attending classes in the fall of 2015!

Once again, the Father has shown us that He has set the table for us in Romania. While getting the curriculum ready by the fall will be a challenge, it’s surely one He can help us meet. Please pray for the Lord’s guidance and divine wisdom as we tackle this task.

KENYA
This is a big part of why we do what we do. People in need, hungry both physically and spiritually.

AIDs has ravaged this country and left orphans and widows in its wake. The need would be overwhelming if we didn’t know the power and love of the Lord. The good news is these folks want revival, they are open, hungry and want more of Him.

Pastor Mathew is the real deal. His is a life of daily sacrifice so that he might feed the kids in his charge and give them a place to sleep. It is truly an honor to come alongside him.

The ministry time was off the charts! We don’t have hard numbers for those that came to the Lord but the best guess would be about 50. There were several reported healings, among them a doctor verified healing of breast cancer! Another lady was miraculously delivered from alcoholism! But perhaps the most

important thing (and, frankly, the most gratifying) is there is now a church in Nakuru that is in revival! The Father had prepared hearts and minds for a move of His Spirit and He started the fire. Let’s pray that it lasts.

INDIA
The trip to India is fast approaching, but not without snags. We’ve lost one of our team to some unforeseen circumstances. But we’re forging ahead and still planning to leave in late January. We need your help with this one. The cost will be about $3500.00 and to date we have none of it. But God is faithful and if He wants this trip to happen, it will! Thank you in advance for your prayers and support for this trip.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It seems that every few months there is a new evangelistic formula: the Way of the Master, servant evangelism, friendship evangelism… the list goes on. We are constantly trying to invent new methods to save the world. But one of the unintended (?) consequences of all this is guilt when we don’t bag our quota. Another is striving rather than abiding. But maybe we’re going about it all wrong. Most would say that souls in the Kingdom would fall under the category of “fruit.” And they would be right. But a tree doesn’t struggle and strive to produce fruit; it just does, because it’s a tree! Maybe, just maybe, if we just relax a bit and let Jesus be Jesus in and through us we would actually see more “fruit” than our method evangelism can produce.

Yours for the Kingdom,

Mark & Julie
