From Mary Ann's Desk
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Psalm 37:23 (NLT)
Our main focus this month is on Mark’s upcoming trip to Romania. Be sure to read his column for all the details.
Barring no obstacles, I will be having eye surgery on February 6th. I am looking forward to getting past this trying time with victory and marching forward with life, unhindered.
We continue to make progress with the editing process on our book, Introduction to the Bible. It may seem like it’s taking a long time. And, in some ways, it is. We have to contend with Jennifer’s very busy work schedule, as well as the fact that this is the kind of material where it has to be “just right,” not just mostly right. So, we are taking particular care to make sure we have handled our subject matter properly. If anybody ever tells you that writing a book is easy (especially a textbook), I’ve got news for you. It’s a challenge.
The upside is that we believe this book will be beneficial to any serious minded student of the Bible, and more especially to those who are preparing for any or all levels of ministry.
Our plans last month were to have been with Lurie Dantin at Lighthouse Worship Center in Galliano, LA for her annual women’s convention. But, old man winter, namely winter storm Leon, prevented our ability to travel. I’m not sure that I have ever known I-10 to have closed before this due to icy winter conditions. But it was, and we were stuck in Florida, whether we wanted to be or not.
Later this month, we are expecting the arrival of Jennifer’s second grand, and my second great grand. Another boy! Everybody is getting pretty excited. After that, our next scheduled trip will not be until April as I recuperate from my eye surgery.
Thank you for all your prayers. Thank you for being our partners. Thank you for being our friends.
Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain
Yours in missions,
Mary Ann Cassidy
