Greetings from the Oh So Snowy North,

Snow, snow and more snow.  Just about every day since mid-November. Ahh, the joys of living in Alaska! Lots of sledding, skiing, snowball fights and shoveling! And the beauty of this time of year is unbelievable!

A couple of years ago, Bill Paddock joined Mark for the annual trip to India. What we didn’t share at the time was Bill’s struggles with public speaking.  God had shown Mark the gifts that He had placed in Bill, the leadership ability, the prophetic insights and the calling to share these gifts with the Church, but Bill doubted that God could, or would, use him in public ministry.

Bill took the plunge and went to India in spite of his doubt. And he struggled in India. He loved the personal one-on-one ministry, the culture shock wasn’t a problem, and the Indian people loved him. But public speaking was a battle, and he didn’t always win.

What he did do, was ask the Father for help. He kept trying, and he asked others for advice and constructive criticism. That was nearly 2 years ago, and Bill hadn’t been behind another pulpit since… until last Sunday when Bill preached at Praise Chapel. And nailed it! He brought a message with power, love and authority; a message that challenged and motivated; and, a message that revealed the heart of the Father. Breakthrough!

This is part of our mission: recognizing the gifts that God has placed in others, and helping them develop, so that these gifts may be released to bless the Body. What a privilege for all of us to be part of this process!

ROMANIA
The Romania trip is fast approaching. Mark’s departure date is set for February 24th. Ministry opportunities are lined up and it’s looking like a great trip. Mark will be in country for 10 days. So far, he will be ministering in 2 churches as well as in a Leadership Seminar. He will also be laying the ground work for future ministry in this beautiful country.

But we still need your gifts to meet our travel budget of $3000.00. The most pressing need is Mark’s airfare of $1500.00. His ticket needs to be purchased by January 24th. The remaining $1500.00 for his food and  lodging accommodations, in country travel, and ministry expenses is needed by February 15th.

We are excited about what the Father has in store!

Greetings from the Balmy North, Well, relatively balmy. We’re still in the mid 30’s, downright tropical for mid-December here. But this too, shall pass and soon enough we’ll be buried under several feet of snow and the rise of the mercury will stop in the single digits. Wow! What a trip! Or is that trips? Anyway, what a wonderful time in the Lord and with His family. ROMANIA The main goal for the Romanian leg of the trip was to meet with Pastor Adi and move ahead on the School of Ministry; and that is exactly what happened. A prime example of a divine appointment. We were in complete agreement about the form the school should take, where it should start, goals and timing. So, as soon as the holiday season is past, Mark will start working on the curriculum for the school. We hope to see the first students attending classes in the fall of 2015! If the speed with which this year has started is any indicator of what the rest of this year will be.....I may have to stop now and again to catch my breath. That thought excites me, and I hope that is exactly how it will be. My highest hope for you and me is that the perfect will of God will be accomplished in each of our lives so that multitudes will come to know Jesus our Savior, that He may be gloried and that we may be edified more and more each day.  In some ways, I am still in Thanksgiving mode. Actually, I am always in thanksgiving mode, but the news I am sharing with you now is a carryover from a $1200 project I presented to you in our October 2015 newsletter to purchase a new desktop computer for the work in India. Greetings from the Great Land, Just a bit of trivia. Alaska is the English version of Alyeska, which is Aleut for the Great Land. And it truly is a great land. Pastor Mathew Ondicho, Nairobi, Kenya This month we want to introduce you to a friend of Mark’s. His name is Mathew Ondicho and he’s a pastor and evangelist in Kenya. Mathew is one of 7 children, born into a poor, rural family. Mathew was saved at 5, and by the time he was 7 he was preaching in public. He was so small he had to stand on a table so the congregation could see him. In 2007, God called him into the slums of Nairobi, some 250 miles from his home. Since then, he has planted several churches, conducted numerous crusades and established a feeding program for orphans and widows. Pastor Mathew and his wife, Vane, work side by side to advance the Kingdom, taking ground back from the enemy.
