“ And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
We arrived home on May 30th, safe and sound from a wonderful time of ministry in Uganda.
KAMPALA - the capitol of Uganda, and the place where we ministered, is a most beautiful city. Originally positioned on 7 hills, now spilling over onto 10, Kampala is a lush paradise of tropical plants, trees and flowers, and home to some of the most beautiful birds I’ve ever seen. Although its location is just barely north of the Equator, its altitude of 4300 feet above sea level provides a moderate climate year round that is most enjoyable. The southeastern part of the city is on the shores of Lake Victoria, the world’s 3rd largest lake by area, Africa’s largest lake by area, and the largest tropical lake in the world. As a result, the city enjoys the benefits of breezes that blow across the lake into the city. My travels in Africa are by no means extensive, but of all the places I have been on the continent, Kampala is, by far, the cleanest city I have been in. In the business districts, it is much like America – well paved streets, traffic signals, and beautiful skyscraper buildings. In addition, driving in the city is much like America as well (except that they drive on the wrong side of the road). The rules of engagement are followed with order and civility, and we never felt unsafe while driving around town. Once one leaves the main thoroughfares, road conditions revert to typical African conditions. Even so, they are a high cut above those of other places I have been.
And the people! They are a beautiful and gentle people. Those we ministered to were eager to hear and receive from the Lord.
By natural right, it is a beautiful field in which to work. But the most beautiful thing was the way in which the Lord ministered through us to the people. Every venue was gloriously blessed.

Bron & Pastor Fred |
During the 2 Sunday church services and the 8 nights of outdoor evangelistic crusade meetings, Bron preached on The Power of The Blood Covenant, and Pastor Fred Kasule interpreted.
SUNDAY SERVICES
In the church services, 4 people came forward for salvation. One was an old man, and our hearts were warmed to see him come at such an advanced age. Another one was a demon possessed woman. When she declared she wanted to be saved, the demon manifested in her. It was quickly cast out of her, and she was gloriously born again.

CRUSADE SERVICES
In the crusades, approximately 60 people came forward for salvation over the 8 nights.
On the first night, an ex-Muslim man opened the meeting by giving his testimony of how he came to believe in Jesus as the Messiah. At the close of the service, during the altar call, several came forward for salvation – among them, a little girl named Sarah who is about 8 years old. The Holy Spirit began to minister in a special way regarding Sarah. Bron and pastor Fred began to admonish the people of the neighborhood to watch over her, to take particularly good care of her, and protect her because the Lord has His hand on her. Just a few minutes later, the ex-Muslim man from the beginning of the service, stepped forward and promised to pay for her entire education – all the way through college.

Church Choir and Band Gathering the Crowd with Singing, Dancing and Testimonies Crusade Venue ... A Community Soccer Field @ Kiwafu-Kansanga (Near the Water Pipe) |
Throughout the week, many were healed of various ailments and diseases. And, 3 people who were demon possessed came forward for salvation. While pastor Fred was praying for them, the demons made themselves known. Again, they were quickly cast out, and the people were gloriously saved.

Baptismal Service |
Only 5 of the new converts were able to meet for water baptism on Saturday, but each of them had a powerful testimony of the changes they had already begun to experience in their lives since being born again.
There are many more testimonies we could share, but space does not permit.

Prayer Team in Action |
The area where the crusades were held has been very resistant to the Gospel for a long time, and on 2 occasions protests were made about our being there. God gave us wisdom and favor, however, and we were able to continue as planned. Even though the crowds in this place numbered only about 100 on average each night, all of us are delighted with the results of the meetings, believing that God gave us a great breakthrough in this area of Kampala. Starting on Friday, June 1st, a discipleship and fellowship meeting has begun on a weekly basis to nurture these new babes in Christ and to anchor them in their new faith.
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
|
Mary Ann Teaching |
The Leadership Conference was a wonderful success. Again, the attendance was not what we had expected, but that’s alright. Each day, we would start with about 50, and soon have about 100 in attendance. Most of the time, I taught practical helps for understanding how the Bible is compiled – lessons from our Bible Institute course materials on the subject “Introduction to the Bible.” I wanted to leave behind some practical tools in their hands. Some of those materials were maps. There were a few in attendance who had never seen a world map before. What a blessing to be able to leave them with some simple, yet practical, tools.

Conference Attendees |
On the day that I ministered inspirationally on “Be Filled With The Spirit,” we had a powerful move of the Holy Spirit. I don’t know how many were baptized for the first time, or how many were renewed in the Holy Spirit, but everyone in the place was touched in one way or another. It was wonderful.
Bron continued teaching on the subject of The Blood Covenant in these sessions, and they were a great blessing to everyone. This subject is almost inexhaustible.

Many who attended said they had learned and absorbed more in these sessions than they had in any other such meetings. They also said that the materials I had provided for them were most helpful. We are thankful to God for these wonderful reports.
Pastor Fred expressed interest in our full curriculum of teaching materials. We are praying sincerely about the extent of LTI’s possible involvement in assisting Pastor Fred to establish a Bible Training Institute in Kampala, Uganda. Needless to say, I am excited about this prospect. Please pray with us for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this regard.

Robinah Kasule |
An extra blessing came from Pastor Fred’s wife, Robinah. She shared with me how she has started a fellowship for pastor’s wives in a village outside Kampala, and how amazed she has been at the large number who have attended. Then she asked if we (Jennifer and I) would be interested in ministering to these women in the future. Of course, the answer is “Yes”, as that has been a burden of mine since 1987. Again, I ask for your prayers with us concerning this prospect.

Pastor Fred Kasule |
It was a great blessing to minister alongside our host, Pastor Fred Kasule. He is a wonderful man of God with a gentle spirit and a large vision. He has raised up Cornerstone Fellowship Church, which has a membership of 500-600, a primary school of 150 students, an orphanage of 50 children, and a group of about 50 pastors he has fathered in the ministry, along with a basic ministerial training program.
TO ALL OUR PARTNERS
Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with us in prayer and financial support. We cannot do these things without folks like you. May the grace and blessing of God continue to rest upon you with increase is my prayer for you.
Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain
Yours in missions,
Mary Ann Cassidy
