God has not given us a spirit of fear
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who watches over all those who have put their trust in Him.
A WORLD I’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE
Today is Sunday, March 15th and the churches are closed. Did you ever think you would see a day like this in your lifetime? Neither did I. But, it’s here.
The coronavirus - COVID-19 – is with us on a worldwide scale, gripping men’s hearts with fear.
I am amazed at how suddenly and universally our world has succumbed to a spirit of fear. The virus is everywhere. There seems to be no safe place for any of us. PANIC has replaced reason on two fronts: our physical health and our economic health. The worldwide economy may, in fact, be the most infectious of the two. As individuals, we cannot control either of these problems. And we humans don’t like being out of control.
If we have truly committed our lives to the Lord, we put our trust in Him to carry us through whatever we are facing. On the other hand, those who do not know the Lord have nowhere to put their trust but in the government and its ability to successfully maneuver these troubled times. Thank God, our government is doing its best to resolve these situations. But our true trust is in the Lord.
I believe what we are seeing with our own eyes is a token preview of what it will be like when the terrible woes that will come upon the world (as revealed in the book of The Revelation) happen. Having said that, it behooves every believer to examine his or her current status with the Lord and make certain everything is in order. (2 Peter 1:10-11)
WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW JESUS?
We know we are living in perilous/troubled times. We also know the coming of the Lord is drawing near. We just don’t know HOW near. And still there are billions with a “B” who don’t know Jesus or have heard His name. What a tragedy. We must continue doing our part to reduce those numbers.
These facts also let us know we must be diligent to press toward the completion of the Great Commission. When the Lord returns, He will be looking for servants who are still working when He arrives (Mt. 24:46). I want to be among that number. I believe you do too. With steadfast hearts let us carry on until He comes or calls us home.
THANK YOU, PARTNERS
You are a very real blessing to LTI and those that we together minister to. God bless you for your faithful giving and prayer support. You are continually in my prayers, and I love you.
Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain
Yours in missions,
Mary Ann Cassidy
