“I delight to do your will, o my God...” Psalm 40:8 (ESV)
Hello.
You see this newsletter is different than all newsletters before. That is because I want to talk with you as friend-to-friend. I hope you will enjoy this change and be blessed by what you read.
In last month’s newsletter we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Leadership Training International. Those were wonderful years in every way a person could imagine. I wouldn’t take anything for them. Every person involved in the activities of those years has multitudes of glorious memories that will be cherished until the Lord calls each one home. Particularly, myself and my family.
But those years are past. Now we look to the present and the future.
For me…there is no stopping place. Retirement has no appeal to me. My breath, my life is to continue working for the Lord; doing any and everything He puts into my hand to do; for as long as I can or He calls me home.
Through these past years of illness, when I have not been able to function at full capacity, I am sure many of you have thought it was over for me. And understandably so. I even wondered that same thing. I am happy to say nothing could be farther from the truth.
Since the first part of April, I have experienced a great turnaround in my health, and Mary Ann is back. Without a doubt. I am most thankful.
I mentioned several months ago that my Pastor approached me about launching an in-house Bible Training ministry in the church. I seriously considered it because that kind of ministry has been “my heart” for so many years. After much prayer, however, I came to know I am not the person for that assignment. A younger person is needed for a venture such as that.
I have been assured by the Lord, however, that I will be teaching. How that will be accomplished is up to Him. You will, of course, be advised as information becomes available.
Since I have said in recent years that we were going to “do this,” or “do that,” and have not been able (for valid reasons, I might add) to actually accomplish any of it, I will not make that same mistake again. I will wait until it is firmly in place to announce it. My hope is that it will be sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, I am busy writing teaching materials that can be adaptable for various venues. This gives me GREAT joy. Full to overflowing.
I don’t consider myself to be Abraham, Moses, Caleb or John the Apostle, but I know that being 80 years old or older does not mean God can’t use you anymore. That makes me happy!
All the above will be in addition to what I have been doing for some time.
1) Encouragement and prayer support for Chuwang Davoe in Nigeria, and Bhalchandre Kamble in India.
2) Counseling several mature Christian women that are being called into a variety of ministries.
3) Other prayer and counseling ministry.
4) Outreach to senior citizens.
Again, I hope you have been blessed by what you have read in this newsletter.
Again, thank you for all your years of faithful friendship and support. We are a team working together for the glory of the Lord and the increase of His kingdom in the hearts of mankind.
Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain
Yours in missions,
Mary Ann Cassidy
