“And the things that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ our Lord. I trust all is well with you in every way.
In August, I was blessed with a wonderful visit from one of our sons in the Lord from Jos, Nigeria, Rev. Chuwang Davoe, who has been a part of our lives since 1989.
Well, last month I was abundantly blessed again. This time it was with the visit of another one of our sons in the Lord - Rev. Bhalchandra Kamble from Pune, India, who has been a part of our lives since 1987. At that time, he was only 22 years old and had just answered God’s call to become one of His leaders in the Body of Christ in India.
During this visit, we talked about the increase that is being realized in the Indian church. Until recently, it has been reported that only 2% of the Indian population is Christian, no matter how much the population has increased over the years. Bhalchandra shared with me that the Indian government has never allowed every citizen to state what their religious belief is until recently. Now they can. As a result, the real percentage has been revealed to be between 7% and 8%. THAT is an encouraging report. Rather than just “holding” their numbers, the number of Christians in India is actually on the increase. Thank you, Lord. Now we are praying for that “increase” to increase even more.
In addition, I talked to him about the fact that foreign missions work is not solely the responsibility of the American and European churches. Rather, it is the responsibility of all the churches of God throughout the world. In response to my comments, he told me that he agrees, and that God has recently opened doors for him in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, making him a missionary to nations surrounding India, in addition to his ministry as a local pastor, church planter, and nationally recognized church leader among all the Christian churches through his prayer ministry called, “Pray - Prayer Works.”
I learned that 2 pieces of equipment would be a tremendous help to Bhalchandra, especially when he is ministering away from home in any and all of his capacities. One is a new desktop computer to replace the very old one that has problems and limitations. The other is a compact projector that would enable him to project his teaching materials, etc. on a screen (most probably, though, a large wall) for the audiences he is ministering to. He did not ask for them. He simply mentioned them. After some time, I was lead to have LTI purchase the projector for him here in the US. He can easily take it home with him on the airplane. It was not until after I told him LTI was going to purchase it for him that he also told me there is a way to use this projector for me to teach in India via the Internet.
He still needs the new computer to accomplish this because the old one cannot carry the programs necessary to make this work. Therefore, I am presenting this as a project you can be a part of if the Lord leads you to do so.
