From Mary Ann's Desk...
“…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus. Yesterday the sky was overcast. Today, it is filled with sunshine. What a difference a day makes. Sunshine in the sky. Sonshine in my soul. A perfect combination.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Stateside travel time is upon me/us, and it appears that the weather is going to be good for the first trip out.
Three exciting opportunities are taking place in the next 6 weeks. They provide wonderful venues where we, as missionaries, can engage in dialogue with multiple Pastors, Missions Directors and friends about the particular work God has called each of us to do in His world. They also provide opportunities for us to get to know one another better, to be strengthened by one another, and to be knit together more closely in the spirit of fellowship and Christian love. I am really looking forward to each of them. Nothing beats one-on-one personal time with good friends.
Thank you, churches and ministerial fellowships, for providing these opportunities for all of us. The enormous amount of time, energy and resources that you expend in order to make these events a reality does not go unnoticed. LTI applauds you, honors you, greatly appreciates you and loves you.
Opportunity #1: As you read this newsletter, Mark and I will be attending the 26th Annual Convocation of Elim Church in Houston, Texas, March 1-4. Mark Walker is Pastor of this wonderful church that has a large missions outreach to all parts of the globe, and LTI is very blessed to have been included in the number of missionaries they support.
Opportunity #2: I am honored to be one of the speakers at the World Bible Way Fellowship Annual SE Regional Convention on March 5th at Christian Fellowship Church in Largo, Florida. God used this fellowship to open the door to foreign mission’s ministry to Bud and me in 1979, and it holds a special place in my heart. It will be so good to see Dr. Kenneth K. Howe again, President of the Fellowship, meet Pastor Stephen Gulbronson, our host pastor, see old friends and make new friends.
Opportunity #3: Next month Mark, Julie and I will be with Pastors Eno and Lurie Dantin at Lighthouse Worship Center in Galliano, Louisiana, for their 52nd Annual Missions Conference April 6-9. For all these years, this wonderful church has faithfully supported many missionaries around the world, LTI being among them. Pastor Eno Dantin is a dear friend and a member on LTI’s Board of Directors. Sis. Lurie is really like a sister to me. She ministered with me in Nigeira and Ghana, West Africa, from 2001-2007 in my Women in Ministry Conferences.
We are expecting great things from the Lord during these meetings. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel and good health. Thank you.
Because there are over 4.4 billion people in the world who still need Jesus, I remain
Yours in missions,
Mary Ann Cassidy
