Greetings from the greening North
Spring in Alaska is different. It’s so sudden. One day you’re wondering when the long winter will end and then… spring. The ice is gone from the lakes and streams, buds are showing on the trees, everything is coming to life. It’s a wonderful picture of resurrection, revival and rebirth.
On to the India report.
We had a great trip, some wonderful fellowship, and an awesome time with the Father. But it was different. The conference presented some challenges and frankly, I felt a bit overwhelmed at first. But Jesus used even that for His glory. He broke through my feelings of inadequacy and transformed it into a solid confidence in Him and what He could do through me. What a blessing!
Remember when I asked you to pray that the Father would show up in power? Prayer answered. We watched Jesus heal back problems, different skin ailments, free up restricted lungs and open deaf ears. That last one was cool. An older lady was deaf in her right ear and asked for prayer. Before we prayed I snapped my fingers near her ear. No reaction. While we were praying and her eyes were closed I repeated that. About the third or fourth time she jumped! She had heard my fingers snap! Our God is truly good, and He is good in the here and now.
One of the most important things to come out of this trip is the groundwork that was laid for future ministry and the cementing of relationships. The friendship and trust developed with Bhalchandra and Vilas are priceless. What wonderful guys! We are already working on next year’s ministry plans and that holds great promise. Let us know if you are interested in joining us. There is one area of need I want to address. We need a physician to join us. We would like to do a medical outreach, but the Indian government requires that it be led by a MD. So, if you are a doctor or know one that may be interested, let us know.
Down on Da Bayou...
Louisiana was a blast. Not only did I get to share at Christian Fellowship Church, but Pastor Eno Dantin also asked me to share on Tuesday morning at the conference. What an honor! The conference was a blessing. It’s so good to catch up with folks and hear what the Lord is doing in so many areas. Add to that days and evenings of fellowship, ministry, breaking bread and fishing with Scott Cheramie and that is a great time. Being from Alaska, fishing in March or April is a different experience…especially when you don’t have to cut a hole in the ice to catch fish.
Thanks, Pastor Scott. I will never forget my first red on a flyrod, even if it was a baby.
Thanks to all of you for all you do in and for the Kingdom. Blessings!
Yours for the Kingdom,
Mark and Julie
